  • Get a computer, go on Edsby, and review what assignments are due today and the expectations.
    • Don’t worry about that for now. Mr. Ewert will be back in the classroom to help you with this right away

The Water Colour Assignment:

There are multiple parts to this collection. You have already had Monday and today to work on this. Next week you will have 2 more days for working on water colour. So, your collection will represent 4 (four) hours of artwork.

  • Total time = 4 hours

Friday., Jan. 23 – Gr. 7-8 Personal Portfolios (week #1) Work Time – Gr. 9-10 – Portfolio, Presentations, Stencils (hand in – last day of class)

Before you sit down:

  • Grab what you need for your personal portfolio
    • Fill out your Portfolio Journal FIRST and then begin – your teacher will be asking to see your Portfolio Journal and ask you what you are working on
    • If you do not know how to fill it in, watch the video below.
  • Get the supplies you need for your Personal Portfolio (first project) and begin

Gr. 9-10 – Personal Portfolio

Before you sit down:

  • Grab a copy of the Exit Slip for today – you are telling Mr. Ewert what you worked on today

Today is the final day of visual arts and you are going to need to have everything finished and submitted before the end of class.

You also need to fill out an Exit Slip and turn it in before leaving

Items you have to have done and submitted:

  • Your stencil cut pencil case should be submitted on Mr Ewert’s desk, be sure to put a piece of paper with your name inside of it. No need for a rubric this time.
  • Your Personal Portfolio Must be all together with the following four items in this particular order
    1. Master List – have all your items listed there
    2. Your art work – in the order that they appear on the Master List
    3. Portfolio Journal
    4. Assessment Rubric
  • Your Personal Portfolio Presentation uploaded to Mr. Ewert’s link (on Edsby)
  • Your Exit Slip completed and handed in.

 

Thursday, Jan. 22 – Gr. 7-8 Water-Colour – Under the Sea and Optional Projects – Gr. 9-10 – Presentations and Catch Up

  • Decide what project you are working on today and if you are comfortable to do so, get what supplies you need
  • Look at the Portfolio Journal (the handout) and fill out what you think you already know how to do

How to do it: below is a link to help you to complete this. You are going to make a powerpoint presentation and then use the record function to make a video. Then you drop the video into Mr. Ewert’s files using this link

Tuesday, Jan. 20 – Gr. 7-8 RR #3 and water-colour techniques – Gr. 9-10 – PP Presentation (work time)

Gr. 7-8 – Response Reflection #3 and Water-Colour techniques

Before you sit down:

  • Get what you need for watercolour paints
    • Also, get one piece of watercolour paper (full size)
  • Get what you need for the RR #2 (scrap paper and pencils)

Today:

  • Response/Reflection #3 – stick people: getting more fluid motion
    • Follow the video below. Following video content also do at least 5 follow up pictures of stick people in various forms. Let’s get even more creative than yesterday and see how much movement we can breathe into these stick people.
  • Water Colour Techniques – some basic techniques to follow
    • We are working with the video (also below) to learn some different methods. We are covering 3:24-7:40 of this video (we are not doing the undersea picture that follows)
      • Please note: we started this on Thursday, Jan. 15., and today we are continuing from where we left off then (5:00)

    • review the paper so you understand Personal Portfolios
  • finally – grab a piece of scrap paper (side counter)
  • Then consider what you think you theme will be fore your portfolio and what you first portfolio project will be

Today:

  • We are going to do  brain storm of portfolio themes. We will help each other choose a theme, then we will start on our first piece for our Portfolios

  • Response/Reflection #2 – stick people: from “stick people” to “people people”
    • Follow the video below. Following video content also do at least 5 follow up pictures of stick people in various forms. Be sure to use angles in the shoulders, hips, and more to make the movement more like “people people”
  • Water Colour Techniques – some basic techniques to follow
    • We are working with the video (also below) to learn some different methods. You are to make a sample paper that resembles the finished product in the video (see 7:40 in the video for finished product)
      • Please note: we are specifically following only 3:24-7:40 of this video (we are not doing the undersea picture that follows)
