This recipe is from allrecipes.com and is a quick and easy cinnamon roll recipe with no yeast, proofing, or kneading necessary and can be made from scratch. The preparation time is 20 minutes, cooking time is 20 minutes, and in total will be ready in around 40 minutes.

First, we will start with the ingredients to make the dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons butter softened, ¾ cup milk, and 1 egg.

Next, the ingredients for the filling will be: ½ cup white sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon.

This will be optional but if you want to make a cream cheese frosting, the ingredients will be: 1 cup confectioners’ sugar (optional), 4 ounces softened cream cheese (optional), ¼ cup softened butter (optional), and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. You also need ¼ cup butter divided.

Your first step will be too preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and then brush a 9-inch baking pan with 2 tablespoons melted butter.

After that you will whisk your 2 cups flour, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and teaspoon salt together in a large bowl. Then while you’re whisking that you will work 3 tablespoons softened butter into the flour mixture with your hands.

Next you will beat the milk and egg in a separate bowl and when finished that you will pour it into the flour-butter mixture and stir it with a rubber spatula until the mixture turns into a soft dough.

When your dough is ready the next thing you will do is turn your dough out onto a floured surface and roll into an ¼-inch thick rectangle. Brush the surface of the dough with 2 tablespoons melted butter.

Next you will have to whisk ½ cup of white sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle ½ of the cinnamon sugar mix in the bottom of the prepared 9-inch baking dish. With the remaining mix you will sprinkle it over the butter-brushed dough.

When that is ready you will roll the dough around the filling to form a log; you will then cut the log into 18 separate pieces making sure they’re even and then will place them in the prepared baking dish.

Bake in oven for around 20 to 25 minutes or until the rolls are set.

For the cream cheese frosting you will beat the confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, ¼ cup softened butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl until the frosting is smoothened out. When the hot cinnamon rolls are ready you top them when hot and then you’re ready to eat.

Some of the cooks notes are that they half the recipe and that you should bake for 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes.

Some problems people had was that the dough was sticky so they recommend to add a few scoops of flour.
